GTK+ for Mac OS X
Gtk+ for Mac OS X
This is the project site for the effort to port Gtk+ 2 to Mac OS X natively (so that you can run Gtk+ applications without X11 on Mac OS X). The port requires Mac OS X 10.4 or newer.
Community
The source code is included in the repositories for GTK+ and its dependencies such as Pango, GLib and Cairo. See the build instructions for more information on retrieving the source and building it. Discussions about the development take place on the gtk-devel mailing list, but please don’t post questions about build problems, use the forum instead. If you want to help out with the development, please take a look at the helping out page for a list of things that are yet to be done.
Resources
The port started out as a thesis project, and many of the design decisions are documented in the thesis report. When submitting patches, please follow the coding style used by GTK+. The style is based on the GNU coding style with a few extra rules similar to the Gimp coding style. Reading the existing code is a good way to get familiar with the style. The list of open bugs in the GTK+ quartz backend is useful if you are looking for things to do. Also see the helping out page mentioned above for more higher level tasks.
